The orchestra has appointed a young Moldovian Stepan Armasar as its associate conductor for the coming season, it was announced this morning.

Aged 25, Armasar will occupy a position that has been facilitated and financed by the family of the late Bernard Haitink.

Armasar’s precedessor Aurel Dawidiuk has been promoed to music director of the Bochum Symphony Orchestra.
